Once again, excellent product. This is very good value for money, many of the features on here you'd normally have to pay extra for. Sony are masters of their craft and after many years of cassettes, they still seem to have put some effort into what is now, fundamentally, a dead product.
Instruction booklet not very clear either. Played CDs fine, just never could get it to record. Sorry I bought it. Even after exchanging it because the first one was damaged, it never worked.
The TCWE475 works well and we are glad to have it. I purchased the Sony TCWE475 Dual Cassette Player / Recorder to upload to my computer many old tape-recordings that are of historical importance to me and my family.
Truly amazing sound. After serious customization on my Logitech Harmony 880 remote, I was able to get almost all features setup (I even programmed some macros for the stop commands to control both decks, etc.).
Not a huge deal, but just something to be noted. The only thing that really disappointed me was that the power cannot be controlled by the remote control, you must physically toggle the power on/off from the unit.
First off, I love the sound quality that this Sony tape deck produces, it truly is amazing. I did not need to buy one, since I have a universal remote control that I was able to program.
GREAT SOUND BY SONY. I bought this for my father, and he has HUNDREDS of old cassettes, most of which are nearly over 30 years old and had lost their sound quality on other players, but sounds just like a digital CD.
This unit does not come with a remote control, but one is available for purchase separately.
It has lots of features which I may use some day. It's fast and the sound quality is great. The instruction book is (as all instruction books) a bit difficult to understand. This Sony Cassette player is just what I wanted. I works great for the project I'm doing.
